Finding a church community in a new city can feel overwhelming. Lucky for foreigners, Seoul has a handful of Churches that provide service in English. At Expat Guide Korea, we’ve compiled a directory of churches for you. Each church provides different services, and are held at different times, so you can find the one that suits you best! These churches are listed in no particular order


Seoul Union Church


Location : Seodaemun-gu Seoul

Seoul Union church dates back to 1885 and is located in the School of Theology on Yonsei University Campus. The church offers various services in English including mass on Sundays, praise team, congregational care, Christian Education, and arts in worship.  According to their website, they are an independent, international, and non-denominational church with the vision to glorify God and Follow Jesus. You don’t have to be a student at Yonsei University to attend. If you’re interested in attending mass, English service is held at 10:30 AM on Sundays 



Jubilee Seoul


Location: Jung-Gu

English Mass Hour: 10 AM & 2 PM / Sundays  and 8 PM / Wednesdays


Jubilee is a community-oriented interdenominational church - they are comprised of multiple backgrounds and believes, as their desire is to reflect the unity of the Bride of Christ. With their strong community focus, they offer various Life groups that take place outside of weekly service, in which people of different life stages can share life together. Some of the groups are targeted towards singles, men, women, families, and college studen




Onnuri Church



Location: Yongsan

Address 347-11, Ichon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea

English Mass Hour: 4 PM / Sundays 


Onnuri Church is located in Yongsang-gu. Aside from English services, they also offer Sunday worship in various other languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Mongol, Russian, Filipino, Sinhala, Khmer, Nepali, and Arabian. Additionally, they offer services for different age groups. Adults, infants, children, and youth can all attend services directed specifically for them. Currently, Onnuri Worship Services are also available live on Youtube every Sunday.

Young Nak Presbyterian Church



Location: Jung-Gu

Address: 33 Supyo-ro, Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea

English Worship Hour: 3:30 PM / Sunday


Young Nak Church is a gospel-centered Christian community. They not only provide service for adults, but also youth and children - in both English and Korean. Newcomers interested in becoming a member must attend the 4 week-long “New Members Welcoming Class” with the pastor. Check their Website for more information



Seoul Sungrak Church



Location: Christian World Mission Center

Address 56-24 Sindorim-ro, Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, South Korea

English Worship Hour: 11 AM / Sundays

International Chapel and Bible Study: 2 PM / Sundays 


The Seoul Sun Rak Church is the center of the Berea Movement. According to their website, they are the mother church to the Berea movement, which the basic idea is “for all believers to take after the words of the Bible - which is the only guidance in our spiritual lives”. They provide services in multiple languages aside from English and Korean including French, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish. Alongside mass, they also organize Bible studies on Sunday at 2 PM. 



Seoul International Catholic Church



Location: Yongsan-Gu

Address: 707 Hannam Dong, Yongsan-Gu,Seoul


English Mass Hour: 9 AM & 11 AM / Sundays


Mass at the Seoul International Catholic Church is held in Korean, English, Italian, German, Spanish, and French. Additionally, this church holds bible study groups which consist of praising God with prayers and songs.  During these bible study sessions, you can expect scripture readings, prayers for particular needs of individuals, as well as commentaries. They are held on Sundays following 11:00 AM Mass.



Yeoksam Church 


Location: Gangnam

Address: 23-11 Eonju-ro 85-gil, Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul


English Mass Hour: 9:30 AM // Sunday


The Yeoksam Catholic Church was founded in 1984 and started offering English Mass in 2002. It is the only spiritual beautiful building located in the midst of the bustle of Gangnam but is located away from the main road to preserve peace and quiet during worship. A lot of foreign students and expats attend their services. Not only does the Yeoksam Catholic Church offer English Mass on Sundays at 9:30 AM, but they hold Bible Studies as well as before and after mass confessions in English. 



Myeongdong Cathedral



Location: Jung-Gu

Address: 명동성당 (Myeongdong Cathedral), 중구 명동길 74, Jung-gu, Seoul 04537, South Korea


English Mass Hour: 9:00 AM // Sunday


The Myeongdong Cathedral is known to be the birthplace for the Catholic Community. It’s one of the oldest churches dating back to 1984. It is also adored for its impressive historical architecture - it is, in fact, the first church to be built in Gothic style with Brick. English Mass is held on Sundays at 9:00 AM alongside English confessions prior and following Sunday Mass. 



Yoido Full Gospel Church



Location: Yeouido

Address: 15 Gukhoe-daero 76-gil, Yeoeuido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

English Mass Hour: 9 AM and 11 AM / Sundays


The Yoido Gospel Church is located in the center of the Han River. Like other aforementioned churches, the Yoido Gospel Church offers services in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Indonesian. It was founded in 1958, and is currently the largest Pentecostal Christian congregation in Korea, and has about 480,000 members. Their services consist of prayer meetings, outreach missions, pastoral counseling, and Sunday worship. Children can attend Sunday School at this church. 



Seoul Anglican Cathedral


Address:  3 Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea


English Mass Hour: 9:30 AM / Sundays


The Seoul Anglican Cathedral has been praised for its beauty - it’s outer appearance is similar to something you would encounter in Europe. The building itself is three-stories and is built with red brick and granite. The main cathedral is open for visitors from Monday to Saturday during the hours of 11 AM to 5 PM. English Sunday Service with Holy communion can be attended on Sundays at 9:30 AM.


Honorable mention: Gupabal Presbyterian Church, Gupabal English Ministry offers worship services in English both a Sunday Children's English Language service and a Sunday Adults' English Language service. There is also a Wednesday night online Bible study for adults.
