1. What is Zigbang App?

With the Zigbang app, people living in Korea can easily find an apartment they like to rent and stay long-term, through smart filters and recommendations. In particular, this app also displays vivid images of the apartment, including detailed bedrooms and living rooms for you to observe.

Zigbang allows customizing search criteria such as traffic location, area, price, house design, etc. Those who have experience finding houses in Korea rate Zigbang as one of the best housing apps. 

When you open this app, you can see there are four main options to choose from: 

• 아파트: apartment

• 빌라/ 투룸+: villa/ two + rooms

• 원룸: one room

• 오피스텔: officetel

In addition to the houses, you can find shops, stores, and spaces for start-ups and offices, and a shared office service is also scheduled to be offered on the app. 

2. How to Use Zigbang Mobile App

After running the app, you can choose the type of residence you like. The most popular type of residence people living alone often choose is one room so I will show a detailed example on finding a one room and for the other types of residence, it’s quite the same. 

There are two ways to find houses on Zigbang: finding by map or finding by the nearest station. For the metropolitan area, it will be easier to find a room by the nearest subway station. I will choose to find a one room by map in this case.

If you select a subway station, you can choose how many minutes to get there from the stations on foot. Select according to your preferences and press “확인” (confirm). In my case, I chose to see the options that are 10 minutes walking from Itaewon station. You may know that the closer the house is to a subway station, the higher the rent will be. 

After selecting the subway station and the according minutes, you can see a list of rooms that match your preferences. This list is presented to you in the order of recommendation of the app. You can browse the listings to check each one to find your favorite room. 

If you can’t find any room you like and there are way too many rooms to check, you can make the task easier by using Zigbang’s filters (the icon at the top of the right). You can fasten the selecting process by choosing various filters including:

• Type of paying: both type 전채, monthly rent 월세 or annually rent 전세

• Deposit: 보증금

• Monthly rent: management expenses included or not)

• Types of room: separation type with one bedroom and one living room, open type with only one room. 

• Number of floors

• Parking options

Note: the unit for the rent in Zigbang app is man won (10000 won) which means if it is 50, it means 500,000 won. 

After using the filters, you can check each post to find a suitable room. Click to view the area of the room (1), management fee (2), the structure of the house (3), a brief description of the one room (4) and scroll down to see detailed information. 

In addition, you can find information about options and things included in the management fee. And if you are interested in a house, you can call or text the owner.
